MdFa - Mumbai Digital Films Academy

This course will introduce you to sound design for video and multimedia production in a broad and diverse manner. We will focus on the goal of attaining an appreciation of the importance of sonic elements in media projects for conveying information and shaping experience and the knowledge you need to produce powerful sound designs for these projects.

 

You learn: the definition of sound and the physics behind it; the physical recording of production sound on digital recorders with a range of microphones, including radio mics; working to a frame; multiple tracks; and the craft of sound design/mixing. Some practical sessions are combined with cinematography and all Student films are recorded with live sound.

MdFa has its own Equipment and Sound Studio.

 

Student get the chance to attain Film / TV Serial shoot onlocation on joining the Course.

 

Student get to join the workshop and seminars.

 

Sound Designing and Recording Students get to use the Equipment which are used in the film industry.Nuendo and Pro Tools.

Each student Records and Design Several short films during his / her course,and finally gets a chance to make his /her full length Diploma Film.

Duration of the courses

AT MdFa Sound Designing and Recording course is divided into three catagories

 

Full Time Course which is for One Year,

 

Short Term Course Six months.

 

Quick Time Course Three months

 

Sound Designing and Recording students have classes 5days a weak, 3days Practical Exercise and 2 days Theory lessons.

Nuendo is a music software product developed by Steinberg for music recording, arranging, editing and post-production as part of a Digital Audio Workstation. The package is aimed at audio and video post-production market segments, but it also contains optional modules that can be used for multimedia creation and audio sequencing.

 

Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation platform for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, developed and manufactured by Avid Technology. It is widely used by professionals throughout the audio industries for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, film, and television post production. Pro Tools can run as standalone software, or operate using a range of external A/D converters and internal PCI or PCIe audio cards with onboard DSP
