What professional camera equipment is available for students to use?

Our academy provides industry-standard equipment including:

  • ARRI Alexa Mini LF cameras
  • RED Komodo 6K cameras
  • Sony FX6 and FX9 cinema cameras
  • Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2
  • Canon EOS C70 and C300 Mark III

Do you have professional lighting equipment available?

Yes, our lighting inventory includes:

  • ARRI SkyPanel S60-C and S30-C
  • HMI lights (2.5K, 4K, 6K)
  • Kino Flo LED lighting systems
  • Aputure 600d and 300d pro lights
  • Full grip equipment package
  • Various modifiers and diffusion materials
What audio recording equipment is available?

Our audio department features professional equipment including:

  • Sound Devices 888 field recorder
  • Zoom F8n multi-track recorder
  • Sennheiser MKH 416 and 8060 shotguns
  • Wireless lavalier systems (Sennheiser G4)
  • Rode NTG5 and NTG3 shotgun mics

Access & Hours

What are the facility access hours for students?

Our facilities are accessible during these hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Note: Extended hours are available during final project periods with prior approval.
Can students access facilities during weekends and holidays?

Yes, weekend access is available with prior reservation. During public holidays, facilities may have limited hours or require special permission. Holiday schedules are posted one month in advance on our student portal and facility notice boards.

Weekend Policy: Students must book equipment and spaces by Thursday 5:00 PM for weekend use.
Are there any access restrictions for first-year students?

First-year students have full access to most facilities but may need to complete specific orientation sessions before using advanced equipment. The restrictions are as follows:

  • Full access: Editing labs, sound stage (with supervision), basic camera equipment
  • After orientation: Advanced cameras, lighting equipment, specialized audio gear
  • After 1st semester: Equipment checkout for external shoots

Booking & Reservations

How do I reserve equipment or studio space?

Reservations can be made through our online system:

  1. Log in to the student portal
  2. Navigate to the "Facilities Booking" section
  3. Select the equipment or space you need
  4. Choose your date and time slot
  5. Submit your request (you'll receive a confirmation email)
Pro Tip: Popular equipment gets booked quickly, especially during project weeks. Book at least 3-5 days in advance for high-demand items.
How far in advance can I book equipment?

The booking window depends on your student status:

  • Final year students: 4 weeks in advance
  • Second year students: 2 weeks in advance
  • First year students: 1 week in advance

These policies ensure fair access for all students throughout the semester.

What is the maximum duration for equipment checkout?

Standard checkout periods are:

  • Cameras & lenses: 3 days (72 hours)
  • Lighting kits: 2 days (48 hours)
  • Audio equipment: 2 days (48 hours)
  • Support equipment (tripods, gimbals): 3 days (72 hours)
Extended Checkout: May be available for thesis projects with faculty approval.

Policies

What happens if equipment is damaged or lost?

Our equipment damage policy is as follows:

  • Immediate reporting: Any damage must be reported immediately to facility staff
  • Accident forgiveness: First minor incident is typically covered for each student
  • Negligence: Costs for repairs due to negligence are the student's responsibility
  • Theft: Students are responsible for equipment until it is checked back in

We recommend students consider personal equipment insurance for high-value items.

Are there any fees for using the facilities?

Most facilities are included in your tuition, but some specialized services may have fees:

  • No extra cost: Standard equipment use, studio time, editing labs
  • Fee-based: Consumables (tape, batteries beyond allowance), specialized printing, equipment repairs due to negligence
  • Premium services: 4K film scanning, Dolby Atmos mixing, specialized color grading sessions

All fees are posted in the facility and on the student portal.

Can alumni access the facilities after graduation?

Yes, we offer alumni access programs:

  • First 6 months: Free access with some restrictions
  • After 6 months: Discounted alumni membership plans
  • Special rates: For studio time and equipment rental

Alumni must complete a facility orientation and sign updated agreements before accessing equipment.
